Description: Inspired by the life of an outdoor cat; this cat will be mostly immersed in flowers (both low relief and 3D). It will be a calico with a red cardinal perched on top its head.
About the Artist: Perhaps best known for her whimsical botanical paintings, Sara Pruiksma has exhibited widely through upstate New York. Currently Pruiksma works as a Design Assistant at May & Watkins Design, assisting in the creation of large-scale public art commissions, interpretative exhibits and fantastical play structures across the United States. Pruiksma is also the Curatorial Assistant at the Albany International Airport, where she assists in implementing multifaceted projects for the Art & Culture Program, including wide-ranging exhibitions and site-specific installations throughout the terminal. She continues to teach botanically inspired courses at the Art School of Columbia County, while developing her own art practice.

Pruiksma received her MFA from the State University of New York in 2011 and graduated with her BFA from Alfred University School of Art and Design, Magna Cum Laude, after receiving her AA from Columbia-Greene Community College.
