Description: “Fire Tower Cat” was inspired by The Official Fire Tower Hiking Challenge. Overlook Mountain was the first tower I had ever came across as a happy accident. It was also the last tower climbed before finishing the hiking challenge with my mother before her passing in 2015. This fire tower has a lot of meaning to me. This cat will be painted with bright fall colors as the day I last hiked it.

About the Artist: Chrissy Mabee is a self-taught artist and photographer from Scotia, New York. She has experience with a multitude of artistic mediums and is an upcoming muralist. Chrissy has her own company, known as “Unorthodox Visuals” which you can find on Facebook and Instagram. Be sure to check it out and see the latest and greatest creations! This is Chrissy’s first submission to the Cat’n Around the Catskills exhibition but is looking forward to many more. The inspiration behind the design for this Fire tower Cat comes from the artist’s love of cats, the outdoors, and urban exploration. Chrissy has successfully completed several Fire tower Challenges within New York State.
