Description: This feline, a companion to “Santa Paws,” is in a traditional festive dress with an apron and shawl. She appears to have baked goodies for the holiday and is ready to knit mittens for kittens.
About the Artist: A former elementary art teacher, Theresa Rowe Obert enjoys child-like themes. She recalls that “Mrs. Santa Claus” knitted a sweater for her doll when she attended Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School on the MountainTop many years ago. She later graduated from Ladycliff College and Fordham University and moved to Connecticut, but she returns to The Hudson Valley to exhibit street art projects. She has designed Rip Van Winkles, bears, owls, ducks, train engines, lighthouses, horses, sailboats and trolleys during the past decade in addition to 24 cats.
