The Heart Of Catskill Association (HOCA) is going strong. We are the same organization as we always have been. We continue to bring the Town and Village of Catskill the same promotional programs we always have such as Cat’n Around Catskill Community Art project and Music in the Park to provide enrichment and engagement opportunities to our community. Visiting the Catskill Cats is only part of the allure of Catskills’ Main Street. New shops, eateries and and galleries have their welcome mats out and are ready to greet new friends. Summer events such as the Music in the Park and Cat’n Around Catskill are just some of the many great reasons to visit Catskill’s downtown Main Street this season.
The mission of the Heart of Catskill Association (HOCA) is The purpose or purposes for which this corporation is formed are
as follows:
- To provide Community Art, Music, and other educational and enrichment programs for the public to enjoy. In doing so, we hope to enrich the lives of residents and visitors and make the Village and Town of Catskill a better place to live, work and play.
- To lessen the burdens of government and to act in the public interest, of the County of Greene in general and the Town and village of Catskill in particular.
- To give local elementary, middle school, and high school students, as well as adult community members, the opportunity to participate in a yearly community art project and have their creations placed on public display as a way to foster art education and appreciation.
- To provide summer-long free music concerts to foster community engagement
- To raise funds by grant, gift, bequest, or otherwise, for the implementation of such continued programs of the corporation
- To make capital contributions or subventions to local not-for-profit corporations supporting child welfare, elder engagement, food security, animal rescue, and community beautification.
