Description: This Furr-ocius Viking cat was inspired by my favorite TV show Vikings on the History Channel. Plus, my husband Kevin’s favorite football team is the Minnesota Vikings, so you could say that I’m a super Vikings fan. Like all real Vikings, this cat is a ferocious warrior, ready to do battle to protect the town of Catskill.
About the Artist: Christie Hicks moved to the Hudson valley in late 2014 when her husband Kevin retired from the army to enjoy the tranquility of the area and the beauty of the mountains. Last year she studied graphic design and fine arts at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson. The creative outlet these classes provided inspired her to submit a design in last year’s Cat ’n Around Catskill’s 10th Anniversary fundraiser, where her Cowboy Cat won a second place ribbon in the “Makes You Feel Good” category. Christie looks forward to participating again this year in this amazing fundraiser for the town of Catskill.
