“Sammy the Siamese” by Eleanor Rowe Gentilini

Sponsored by: Helmedach & Young

Description:  “Sammy the Siamese” sits regally in all her splendor waiting to carry on a conversation or play a game with her humans. I have always admired the beautiful colors and sleek fur of the Siamese breed and enjoy making them come alive in Sammy.

About the Artist: Eleanor Rowe Gentilini grew up in Greene County, attending all twelve years of school in Windham. She graduated from the College of Saint Rose in Albany with a B.A. in Math and a minor in Physics. In her last semester, she took one art course for a change of pace. She became an Army wife and traveled to many parts of the country and the world, finally settling in Colorado. In recent years, she has returned to her enjoyment of art. She and her husband resided in the family homestead in Windham last winter to enjoy close-by skiing. During summer visits, they enjoy viewing various local public art projects throughout the area. Last year’s What a Hoot was Eleanor’s first time to participate as an artist, and it was so much fun that she returned for 2020 with her third year as a Cairo Bear artist. This is Eleanor’s first time designing a Catskill Cat.
