Description: My 2017 cat is named Rosso because that is the Italian word for RED. Rosso is a mosaic cat, worked entirely in pieces of iridescent stained glass. It took me over 65 hours to complete this cat, and I hope people will enjoy looking at him from all angles. Light cannot pass through the glass on a cat, therefore, I chose iridescent glass for the effect of the beautiful shimmering colors.

About the Artist: A passion for making things, especially in brilliant colors, has been a lifelong affliction. Love of stained glass dominates, and probably began with the gorgeous light streaming through church windows. My high school art teacher coached and inspired me to pursue post-secondary art training and education which includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in both studio art and art history, as well as graduate studies in design. I’ve enjoyed a wide variety of creative paths such as silver smithing, macramé, fiber arts, and photography. In addition to stained glass, I currently work in other media such as paint, polymer clay, epoxy clay, and I am very excited by mosaic work, as evidenced by the 14 cats I have decorated since 2007.
