Description: This cat is inspired by the original King Tut funerary mask, which has fascinated me since I first saw it on display as a child, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The modifications on this cat were done by hand with an epoxy resin called magic sculpt, painted with acrylic paints, and adorned with glass bugle beads on the collar. To see individual steps in the process of how it was made, visit me on Facebook/@JLDgallery, #Tutankhatmun.

About the Artist: Jennifer DeAngelis studied art and design at the College of New Jersey. Although she considers fine art photography her first love, she also enjoys painting and sculpting. Her public art work has included Cairo, New York’s Bears and Butterflies project having created Gone Fishin’, Born to Be Wild and In The Garden in 2009, along with Windy Autumn and Tiffany in 2010; and from the Cat ’n Around Catskill project, Onyx in 2015; Gotham City Kitty and de Jardin in 2016; and TutanKHATmun and Fall Frolic in 2017.
